Two Pints with Twopoint

Two pints with twopoint

Over the past year, we’ve celebrated our 20th Anniversary by highlighting our incredible clients, learning how they’re answering community challenges every day to creating stronger neighborhoods. We’ll be highlighting the people and the communities they serve, hearing their stories, and perhaps, we’ll have a pint or two along the way! Over the course of five events throughout our 20th year in business, we hosted panels with different brewers and community leaders at our brewery projects and cultivated meaningful conversations with the communities they serve. Scroll through for recaps of our events so far and stay tuned for an announcement for our fifth and final event!

Event 1: Diamondback Brewing Company

Our first happy hour discussion with Tom Foster from Diamondback Brewing Co., Kim Callari from The Baltimore Station and Kathleen Lechleiter and David Lopez from Twopoint Studio.

Diamondback was our first brewery. We helped some young entrepreneurs envision what a space disconnected from a new development could become: a destination for a growing community in an established neighborhood. The Baltimore Station was the first true housing project where we volunteered, served meals, worked with residents on art installations within their building, and joined in raising critical funding. We got involved!

Understanding our clients’ missions, goals and dreams has made us better architects and ultimately, better people.

Event 2: Guilford Hall Brewery

Richard Craft Jr. from Guilford Hall Brewery and Mansur Abdul-Malik from The NHP Foundation in discussion with Kathleen Lechleiter and David Lopez of Twopoint Studio.

Guilford Hall restores the Crown Cork & Seal’s industrial complex into a brewery, restaurant, event space and biergarten while considering work force and employment strategies for the community. NHP Foundation renovated single-family homes throughout the city integrating low-income residents into communities of opportunity advancing new models of affordable housing.

Event 3: Suspended Brewing Company

Josey Schwartz with Suspended Brewing Company and Meredith Chaiken with Greater Baybrook Alliance join Kathleen Lechleiter and David Lopez of Twopoint Studio with Courtney Morgan of SCRD (Studio for Collaboration, Research and Design) facilitating the discussion.

Josey and Yasmin at Suspended are two of our favorite people. Great clients and a business model as a good neighbor and stalwart of the local community, hosting events and providing a comfortable place for good people and great beer. Working with Greater Baybrook under the leadership of Meredith Chaiken, Twopoint Studio and Elite Construction teamed with local artists on a community initiative during the pandemic to create an identity for small restaurants, promote social distancing and patronize local businesses.

Event 4: Checkerspot Brewing Company

Judy Neff with Checkerspot Brewing Co. and Beth Benner with Women's Housing Coalition join Kathleen Lechleiter and David Lopez of Twopoint Studio with Courtney Morgan of SCRD (Studio for Collaboration, Research and Design) facilitating the discussion.

Taking a raw warehouse space in an industrial building by the stadiums, Checkerspot came to Twopoint with a request to develop a production brewery with distribution in mind. WHC is a non-profit providing permanent supportive housing for individuals and families is near and dear to our hearts. We’ve brought together two women who are leading their organizations, showing their passion and acting as role models in the City. Whether it’s a female brewer and owner or leading an agency providing permanent supportive housing to individuals and families, these women are getting it done.

Our final event has been rescheduled to mid-August! Register here
