This addition and renovation of a historic firehouse for the Baltimore Station into a residential treatment facility for men with substance abuse addiction is located in the Sharp-Leadenhall neighborhood of South Baltimore. The program consists of beds for 92 men, including two dorms, semi-private suites, bathrooms, commercial kitchen, and dining areas. In addition, office space was provided for counselors and administration. The facility incorporates green technology and includes a green roof, autoclaved aerated concrete masonry, and a restored original spiral stair discovered during demolition. Salvaged doors from another historical property were part of a design/build charette including designers, staff, and residents.
