After COVID had wreaked havoc on the food service industry, we’ve noticed an up-tick in bar + restaurant spaces being sold and transitioned into new restaurant concepts. Within Baltimore City - the small group chain restaurants who have locations in both the City and County, seem to be selling off their City locations to focus on their Baltimore County restaurants.
One such restaurant to leave the City environs for County pastures is the old Looney’s Pub in Canton Square. The new owners ambition is to update the feel and quality of the interior along with the menu and cocktail selection.
Located on one of the prominent corners of the Square, the project will implenet a second level, wrap-around deck for expanded dining options. The deck will provide premium views of the square nightlife. The front facade has been modified to retro-fit two large Active-wall sliding/folding door assemblies which will elevate the interior of the second floor bar and dining room. The building required a massive amount of structural support for building stabilization - a frequent issue with the old bars and restaurants in Fells Point and Canton.
