Twopoint Studio was engaged by the Owners of BabyCat Brewing Co. to assist in their first brick and mortar location to be located in an old auto repair shop within a campus of buildings at a central shopping center in Kensington, MD. There are future plans for an outdoor elevated deck to expand the overall seating area.

The brewery utilizes a 10-bbl brewing system with a reserved tank farm as the Owners hope to expand operations in the future to the adjacent tenant space once available. The Tasting Room will occupy 50% of the overall space, with tables and chairs to accompany the design and provide suitable seating for occupancy. The room was sized to keep occupant load under 100 occupants in an effort to avoid sprinklering the existing structure.

Additionally, the plan includes a direct draft system tied into a central cold box that services a live-edge custom bartop for service with bar seating. Renovation consists of all new mechanical, as no existing building infrastructure was salvageable. The existing concrete floor was cleaned and polished to keep the raw vibe of space.
